Tearfund work through local churches to unlock people's potential and help them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves. When disasters strike, they respond quickly. They will not stop until poverty stops.

How we’ve Supported tearfund

From monies raised by the 2019 campaign to attend the premiere of “Spider-Man Far From Home” we granted £32,672 to Tearfund. This enabled them with their partners, Yayasan Bumi Tangguh, to build eight new homes to families who had lost their homes in the earthquake and tsunami that struck off the coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia. This killed 2,081 people and seriously injured 4,438. 1,309 people are still missing! These eight new homes will not only provide permanent shelter and a home but help them to get back on their feet, restoring dignity and hope and enabling them to plan for the future.
